Lomilomi

Lomilomi is a luxurious & flowing 90 minute full-body massage from Hawaii. Its’ continuous and rhythmic movements glide from head to toe, give you a sense of your complete self & allowing you to drop into total relaxation.

To allow for the continuity of stokes, lomilomi uses minimal draping in the form of a loin-cloth which covers the intimate area and the body is fully anointed with coconut oil at the beginning of the session . Touching beyond the physical body, focussed intention and unconditional love (aloha) are harnessed to apply touch in a way that can bring about emotional re-balancing and recovery from stress and tension, with the aim of reinstating harmony in all the body’s systems.

Despite its ancient origins, Lomi lomi includes techniques which target common areas of tension & parallel those developed far later by western styles of anatomy-based bodywork. This hints at the ancient and profound understanding of the body which has been passed down through families for centuries. Elements of deep tissue work can also be incorporated to treat specific areas of tension.
